The session will highlight the benefits of Awards that provide opportunities to spend time enjoying, learning about and caring for nature. There will be a focus on the John Muir Award and a new Scottish Junior Forester Award, showing how these two nature- based Awards can link together. It will introduce some progression opportunities and learner pathways.

DYW Context:
Youth awards provide opportunities to develop a wide range of knowledge and skills for learning, life and work. They can offer motivation and positive engagement with education, and valuable recognition of achievement.

Additional Requirements:
The John Muir Award is recommended for upper level and upwards.

The Scottish Junior Forester Award is for 4-14 year olds.
