The session will highlight the benefits of Awards that provide opportunities to spend time enjoying, learning about and caring for nature. There will be a focus on the John Muir Award and a new Scottish Junior Forester Award, showing how these two nature- based Awards can link together. It will introduce some progression opportunities and learner pathways.
Youth awards provide opportunities to develop a wide range of knowledge and skills for learning, life and work. They can offer motivation and positive engagement with education, and valuable recognition of achievement.
The John Muir Award is recommended for upper level and upwards.
The Scottish Junior Forester Award is for 4-14 year olds.
