In partnership with Comhairle nan Leabhraichean, e-Sgoil is delighted to offer a series of live GME literacy inputs which will be delivered online via Glow for nursery and P1-3 pupils in GME.
‘Leugh is Seinn le Linda’ is a project run by the Gaelic Books Council which aims to engage children in reading in Gaelic through workshops which involve stories from Gaelic children's books, puppets, singing and games. The workshops are led by the Gaelic Books Council’s Reading Ambassador and BBC ALBA children’s TV presenter, Linda MacLeod. The sessions are conducted entirely through Gaelic.
‘Leugh & Seinn le Linda’ will be delivered as half hour sessions (Thursdays 10 am to 10.30 am) for a block of eight weeks. There is a limit to the number of participating schools for each real-time session, so additional blocks will be scheduled throughout the academic year, subject to demand. Sessions will be tailored to suit the setting – nursery or lower primary. We hope to commence the first eight week block early September.
Please find a link to a flyer summarising this exciting educational experience.
Participating schools must have access to Glow and appropriate audio/visual technology to allow the session to take place. It is also necessary for class teachers to be present with their young people throughout the sessions.
We are now seeking expressions of interest from GME nursery and primary schools for this fun-filled initiative. Please contact Paul Gallanagh to confirm your interest or if you wish to discuss this opportunity further.
We look forward to hearing from you.
