Description:
This twilight CLPL session is open to all practitioners who would like to find out more about our fully funded programme - Social Enterprise Schools, potentially with a view to empowering young people to make a positive difference to social or environmental issues that they feel passionate about.

  • Explore key concepts and values of social enterprise.
  • Meet and gain insight from a social entrepreneur and hear from other teachers who have taken part.
  • Support young people to discover and develop skills for life, learning and work and explore how Social Enterprise Schools can support the curriculum.
  • Gain vital knowledge about supporting social enterprise in your school, including gaining access to advice, resources, entering for Dragons' Dens and our Annual Social Enterprise Academy Awards.

Should teachers wish to take part in Social Enterprise Schools with a group / class of young people, we have two other courses later in the year for this:

Social Enterprise - People, Planet, Profit - A standalone session introducing learners to the world of social enterprise (October to December).

Social Enterprise Schools – An 8-week block where learners will develop their own social enterprise, culminating with an online Dragons' Den via DYW Live (January to March).

DYW Context:
Through taking part in Social Enterprise Schools, young people through the experience of setting up and running a social enterprise develop key employability and enterprising skills.

Additional Requirements:
Teacher CLPL so no specific requirements - all are welcome! We would appreciate it if those attending are prepared to switch on camera and microphone to actively take part in the session.
