e-Sgoil teachers are part of a supply bank and the majority are on short-term contracts specific to individual school requirements. They can be based anywhere and can teach to any location - although by and large we are focused on Scottish schools.
We largely operate a needs-based service and respond to requests from schools as they come in. We are also supporting schools nationally as part of Scotland's National e-Learning Offer. Given the changeable nature of supply requirements, it can be difficult to predict in advance where & when the demand will be felt.
The entitlement to pay & conditions, holidays etc. is in line with the Scottish arrangements and our staff are paid for the time spent teaching + 46% for additional duties including preparation & correction.
