Don’t worry, be happy! Join Nicola Killean, the Children and Young People’s Commissioner, to celebrate children’s human rights on UN International Day of Happiness on March 20.
This assembly – with BSL interpretation – will be hosted by the Commissioner and a young person. At this fun and interactive session, children will:
- learn more about rights, with a focus on good mental health
- enjoy a laughter yoga session altogether
- share thoughts and find out from other children what makes us feel good
The Children and Young People’s Commissioner promotes and protects children’s rights in Scotland. This assembly is the second in a series with Nicola during this school year – the first was held on World Children’s Day on November 20.
Last summer, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child became part of our law in Scotland. This assembly will help children understand more about their rights in an accessible and age-appropriate way. This is important as knowing their rights helps children claim them.
So please join us live at 2pm on Thursday, 20 March, to spread a bit of happiness across Scotland.
