Description:
The interactive Languages and Your Career webinars offered by SCILT will explore how languages can contribute to success in a wide range of jobs and career paths. We will hear advice from languages students and young people who use languages in their daily work.
NOTE: The sessions in May - June 2024 will differ slightly from the workshops previously offered.
Wednesday 15th May 11.00 - 12.00, a session aimed specifically at Secondary BGE learners (S1-3) will explore the fun, transferrable employability skills associated with languages. We will examine together how these are a valuable asset in any learner’s choices.
Tuesday 11th June 2.00 – 3.00, aimed specifically at Senior Phase pupils just starting new courses, will look further forward from the perspective of those who have already chosen languages. This will include tips on making the most of the language learning experience in school and beyond.
These webinars aims to introduce learners to the importance of languages and their associated skills in the workplace, break down stereotypes of careers that use languages, identify appropriate career pathways, and hear examples of people who use languages in their daily work.
Workshop Dates:
Wednesday 15th May: 11.00 – 12.00pm
Tuesday 11th June: 2.00 – 3.00pm
