Description:
Creative Careers Week 2023 will run from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th October 2023. Following 2021 and 2022’s successful programmes, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW), Creative & Cultural Skills (CCSkills), and Historic Environment Scotland (HES) will be shining a spotlight on careers in the creative and cultural industries.
Creative Careers Week 2023 is a chance for young people to hear directly from those working within the Creative and Cultural Industries about the wide variety of opportunities there are within the sector and to be inspired to think about considering a career in a creative role.
The aims of the DYW Live Creative Careers Week sessions are to:
- Raise awareness among young people and educators of the breadth of roles and range of pathways available within the creative and cultural industries.
- Inspire young people to consider a career in the creative and cultural industries while highlighting the breadth of roles and range of pathways available and challenge misconceptions about what a job in creative and cultural sector is.
During Creative Careers Week there will be 3 DYW Live sessions:
- Introduction to the Creative Industries
- Early Careers in the Creative industries
- Digital at Work
DYW Context:
Communication skills is a core skill so this session will be relevant to every student, regardless of their future career plans and will be particularly helpful to those starting to prepare for life after school e.g. job interviews, writing their University applications.
