Talk to a Farmer 2025

RHET are excited to be working in partnership with the DYW Live/e-Sgoil to deliver ‘Talk to a Farmer’ 2025 for early, first and second level learners! Over the course of w/c 17th of March, join in to hear from a wide range of different farmers.

We have sessions on goats, robotic milking, scanning sheep and cheese making covering learning for sustainability, maths, science, engineering, health and wellbeing.

Live sessions for Talk to a Farmer Week will last for 30 minutes, will take place in Teams (Glow not required) and there will be plenty of opportunity for your learners to ask our farmers lot of questions!

This year we have split the offer into different stages to help teachers identify the sessions most suitable for their learners:

Early Years

We will have some live sessions with farmers sharing stories about their farms with plenty of opportunities for questions. There will also be a follow picture story for you to use in class with an associated quiz.

Stage 1/2

We will have multiple live sessions with a variety of different farmers sharing what happens on their farms with opportunities for live questions. We will have a learning platform with some post event materials for classroom use after the event. We also have some data direct from cow 991 to share with you for use in school maths, science and IDL projects.

Stage 3/4

We will share 3 pre-recorded sessions that will be released on the 17th to fit in with school timetables and follow-on activities linked to meta skills that can be completed with your classes.
