Description:
Once again in partnership with Edinburgh University and the Japanese Foundation we are offering beginner courses for Japanese Language and Culture.

The courses will be delivered in Microsoft Teams via Glow and are available at 2 levels: Beginners Level 1 and a Continuation Course for those with some prior experience of Japanese.

On the completion of the course, the participants of the course will be able to:

Beginner Level 1 Course

  • Use basic expressions such as greetings and simple self-introduction 

  • Write their name in Japanese 

  • Recognise some aspects of Japanese people and culture such as manners and customs 

The Continuation Course should allow you to:

  • Expand your vocabulary

  • Identify some Japanese words

  • Become more familiar with Japanese culture and customs

In addition, you should understand more about pathways for further study of the Japanese Language and Culture and, how learning the Japanese language could enhance your career opportunities.

Additional Requirements:
Although the participants do not need to buy any textbooks, each participant is required to enrol the free online Japanese language courses “Marugoto Katsudo and Rikai A1-1 Self-study course” on eLearning Minato (https://minato-jf.jp/Home/Index).

We will use the online course as an alternative to a paper textbook.
