World Children's Day - Scotland's Assembly

Scotland’s Assembly – climate change and children’s rights!

Join the Children and Young People’s Commissioner to celebrate World Children’s Day on 20 November at a special online assembly for primary-aged children.

Commissioner Nicola Killean and some very special young guests will take part in a fun session, where children can:

  • Learn about the link between climate change and children’s rights
  • Hear from other children who have created climate campaigns in their local area
  • Feel inspired, and share their views with children across Scotland

On World Children's Day we celebrate children’s rights as it is the birthday of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This year, this human rights law for children became a part of the law in Scotland.

It’s the Children and Young People’s Commissioner’s job to protect and promote children’s rights in Scotland. This interactive assembly is the first in a series for primary-aged children in this school year, run in partnership with Scotland’s e-learning service, e-sgoil.

You can find out more information about the Commissioner’s work on the website and on social media channels @cypcs

Please join us live for World Children's Day at 9:30am on Wednesday, 20 November!
